Terms of Use
Last updated: 6 May 2026 · Effective: 6 May 2026
These Terms govern your use of Skir, a mobile application for iOS published on the Apple App Store. By installing or using Skir you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Skir is operated by the developer of record listed on the app's App Store page ("we," "us"). Contact: hello@skir.app.
1. What Skir is — and is not
Skir is an information service. It generates day-by-day travel itineraries using AI, place data licensed from Google Maps Platform, and community context from Wikivoyage. It surfaces walking and transit times, indicative price bands, and neighborhood-level lodging suggestions.
- Skir does not book accommodations, transport, tours, restaurants, or anything else.
- Skir is not a travel agent, tour operator, or marketplace.
- Skir does not contain affiliate links or referral commissions to any booking site.
When you decide to actually book or visit a place, you do so on whatever third-party site, app, or in person you choose, under their terms — not ours.
2. Indicative information — not a guarantee
Itineraries are suggestions. Costs are labelled "indicative" and represent typical price bands at the time of generation, not quotes. Opening hours, availability, prices, transit times, and weather can and do change between the moment Skir generates a plan and the moment you arrive. We strongly recommend confirming critical details (e.g. whether a museum is open) before you go.
AI-generated content can be wrong. Place names may be misspelled; details may be out of date. Use the cited sources, your own judgment, and on-the-ground confirmation for anything important.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for keeping access to that identity provider secure. If your account is compromised or you spot suspicious activity, contact us at support@skir.app.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete. See our Privacy Policy for retention details.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Skir to:
- Submit prompts or content that are illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that violate someone else's rights.
- Attempt to extract our prompts, exploit, scrape, or reverse-engineer the app or its backend.
- Resell access to the service or rebadge it.
- Submit prompts designed to overload the service or evade rate limits.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
5. Subscription, billing, and auto-renewal
Skir offers an auto-renewing subscription, sold and processed by Apple via in-app purchase. The exact price, billing period, and any introductory offer are shown on the purchase screen inside the app before you confirm.
How auto-renewal works (required disclosure)
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon purchase confirmation.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Renewal is charged to your Apple ID account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
Refunds
Apple — not Skir — handles all in-app purchase refunds. Request one at support.apple.com/billing. We can't issue refunds directly because we never receive the payment.
Price changes
If we change the subscription price, we'll notify you in-app and via email and (where required) ask for your renewed consent before the new price applies. You can always cancel before the change takes effect.
6. Intellectual property
Skir, its branding ("Skir" name and logo), the app's source code, and the prompts that drive the AI are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them.
You retain ownership of the content you input (your trip prompts and refinements). By using the app, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to process that content as needed to operate the service for you (e.g. to send it to the AI provider, store it in your account, and display it back to you).
Place data, photos, and text shown inside itineraries are licensed from Google Maps Platform and Wikivoyage and remain the property of their respective owners. Photos display the "Google Maps" attribution required by Google's terms.
7. Disclaimers
Skir is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of itinerary content, or non-infringement, except as required by your local consumer-protection law.
Travel is inherently uncertain. We are not responsible for safety conditions, visa or entry requirements, vendor closures, transit disruptions, weather, geopolitical events, or any other on-the-ground reality you encounter. Always verify safety and entry information from official sources.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skir is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (for example, liability for gross negligence, fraud, or death/personal injury caused by negligence).
9. Termination
You can stop using Skir and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service (we'll give reasonable notice in that case).
10. Apple-specific terms
You and we acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance and support for Skir.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you in-app before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the update.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's country of residence, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. If you're a consumer, this doesn't deprive you of any protection mandatory under your local law.
